Weight traning for women, yes or no?

Won't you look manly/bulky/masculine if u lift weights? This is a common question being asked to women who weight train and the answer is NO. 

Many women who go to gym stay away from weights thinking it might make them look like a man. My mom often tells me that what I do is dangerous for my joints. 
But the truth is, we women do not have enough of a hormone called testosterone as much as men do. Testosterone is what makes men look "masculine". Men have facial hair, muscle and bone mass, all because of this hormone. 
So no matter how much weight you lift, unless u take testosterone, you won't look "manly"! Women do produce a small amount of this hormone but not enough to grow muscle mass like men. 


So, why should women lift weights?? ?
★ while cardio burns fat only when you are active, weight training elevates your metabolism and keeps you burning calories hours after workout.
★ You feel energetic throughout the day because it boosts "feel good" chemicals in your brain making you less stressed with more energy.
★ it's not only good for the muscles, it also increases heart health.
★ It helps you keep your blood sugar levels at bay because it increases insulin sensitivity
★ weightlifting reverses degeneration of bones! Can you believe that? We will not have any joint pain in our old age! 
I wish I could list every single thing that we can benefit from weight training (there are so many!!) but I hope you got the idea 😉
